What we’re about

Golden Wake Society is a small, invite‑only collective for people who love bluewater horizons, well‑trimmed sails, and unhurried conversations at golden hour. We curate relaxed, comfort‑forward sailing adventures — think quiet anchorages, great food, and unpretentious luxury aboard modern, seaworthy boats. Our aim is simple: memorable passages with good company, where every wake glows a little gold.

We plan a handful of member trips each year in places like Croatia, the BVI, the Bahamas and the Pacific Northwest. Itineraries are designed for time under sail, not marina‑hopping — with flexible days for swimming, paddleboarding and exploring ashore. Boats are professionally maintained, safety‑equipped, and skippered by experienced hands. New sailors are welcome; salty veterans will feel at home.

Where we like to sail

We’re drawn to routes with clear water, reliable wind and plenty of time under sail:

  • Croatia: Kornati and Šibenik archipelagos, stone harbors and quiet coves.
  • BVI: Line‑of‑sight passages, easy moorings, swim stops and beach cafés.
  • Bahamas: Shallow banks, turquoise sandbars, spearfishing and starry nights.
  • PNW: Orcas, cedar shorelines and long golden evenings in the San Juans.
“There’s no rush. We sail when there’s wind, swim when it’s sunny, and eat when it smells good.”

Our Fleet Philosophy

We favor modern catamarans (Lagoon, Fountaine Pajot) for space and stability, and capable monohulls (Beneteau, Jeanneau, Hallberg‑Rassy) for feel and performance. Regardless of hulls, we prioritize good sails, reliable systems, and the small details: shade, fans, soft lighting, quality galley gear, and a cockpit made for long meals.

  • Shaded cockpit and good ventilation for warm anchorages.
  • Well‑tuned sails and conservative reefing plans.
  • Reliable tenders, good ground tackle, and safety gear.

Who finds this magical

  • Couples and friends who love being on the water without a fixed agenda.
  • People who appreciate comfort and simplicity over flash.
  • New sailors curious to learn, and old salts who enjoy teaching.
